Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I have been wondering the last few weeks about how I should get the word out about my newest and most exciting business venture yet! A friend suggested a blog and I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of that!! So here it is. Right now, the purpose of this is to inform friends, family, and parents of potential students as to who I am, what I'm about, and what my school is about. :)
First of all, I'm a mother and teacher with a passion for kids and education. As corny as it may sound, nothing makes me happier than instilling knowledge (of any kind) into children. I have taught just about every age at one point or another, ranging from 1-16. The majority of my experience, however, is with preschool and elementary-aged students. I hold an Associate's in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Development and am just a few credit hours away from holding a Bachelor's in the same fields, as well as in English as a Second Language. I have taught students whose first language is not English and have had extensive training in that area (as I would have to to have it on my degree ;)). I have also taught students with special needs.
I have dreamed of being an elementary school teacher for years. However, during my getting my degree my husband and I had our first daughter. She is almost 4 now and it just recently has occured to me how much I truly love staying home with her. So as of now, I am combining my two loves: being home with my child (and future children) and teaching. I couldn't be happier about the way God has changed my plan and path!
I'm going to stop rambling now. I'll be putting more specific info about my school in the following posts.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
Ms. Melissa
